The musician, born in Eutin/Germany in 1786, was educated by Micheal Haydn at Salzburg and abbot Vogler at Vienna/Austria. 1804 he became opera conductor at Breslau, two years later he got in service of Wuerttembergian sovereigns. 1813 he went to Prague, where he was an opera-conductor again and in 1817 he got this position at the new Deutsche Oper in Dresden
