Neither Digg nor Wikipedia have explicitly said they've received cease-and-desist letters from a specific party, ordering them to take down copies of the "09 F9 11 ..." HD DVD processing key. But our sister company Reddit, which along with Wired News is owned by Wired Digital, say they received and attempted to comply with a C&D just over a week ago from an attorney representing AACS LA, the Advanced Access Content System Licensing Administrator. AACS LA is a consortium of technology and media companies including IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba, The Walt Disney Company and Warner Bros. Studios. The letter allegedly cited "circumvention tools prohibited by 17 USC 1201(a)(2) and (b)(1)."

No surprise, but there it is.
