For the first time in four years Rascal Flatts is back at #1 on the country charts with their latest single “I Like The Sound Of That.”

The advanced Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts are of and the award winning trio is at number one on both charts for this week.

“I Like The Sound Of That” makes 13 career Billboard chart toppers for Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney.

The last number one from Rascal Flatts was the 2012 hit single “Banjo.”

The latest number one comes from the album Rewind which is available everywhere now.

“I Like The Sound Of That” is an uptempo, fun song and Jay thinks the reason it hit the top of the charts can be accredited in part to putting out the right song at the right time from Rascal Flatts. “We were kind of due for an up-tempo hit too,” he shares, “Really, to be honest ‘cause we’ve lived our lives so many years … for so long on ballads that we needed somethin’ fun and somethin’ energetic and it’s been the perfect shot in the arm for us. It really has been.”

Joe Don jokes that Rascal Flatts fans were ready for a “no-wrist-slitter.” The song will be one the fans can clap and sing along with when they hit the road for their “Rhythm & Roots Tour” in June.

Congratulations to Rascal Flatts on making it a baker’s dozen when it comes to #1 singles with their latest chart topper “I Like The Sound Of That.”
