𝓗olding her breath in shock, her instantly horror gaze fixated on the headmaster's desk in front of her before glancing instinctively at Dumbledore, wanting to know his reaction, knowing that she was a Gryffindor in the future. Dumbledore being Dumbledore. Seemingly not bothered at all by this, he returned the Sorting Hat to its original place, then did Dippet's favour to bring Professor Slughorn — the Head of Slytherin.

She didn't know what to do. She had never wanted to be in Slytherin, but in hindsight, it could have been because she had been distracted by what Hagrid and Ron had said about that house. In fact, now that she had spent five years at Hogwarts, there was nothing that made the four houses (in her time) truly different other than the behaviour of a few individuals. Slytherins were bad because of people's pre–conceived notions of them, but as far as she was concerned, only Draco Malfoy and his minions were Slytherins who wanted to make her hate them so much — if not counting Voldemort or Snape — while, when she was accused of being the Heir of Slytherin, when her name unexpectedly came out of the Goblet of Fire, and when she said that Voldemort is back, people from any house could turn out to be assholes to her, not bothering to be a Slytherin first. Now, after all that, should she be afraid that much of being placed in Slytherin? Should she hate them, even those who never really did anything to her in the first place?

Medeia desperately tried to calm down and reassure herself. "It doesn't matter. You won't be here for long. You will return to the future." she nervously looked down at her uniform, which had changed into the typical Slytherin of the time.

"You know, Evans, I used to think you'd end up in Hufflepuff." Dippet smiled broadly at her. "I was wondering, what career path do you want to take after graduating from Hogwarts?"

With the last vestiges of shock, Medeia replied with the same answer to the question people had been asking her lately — before she was thrown back in time. "Auror, sir,"

"Auror. A brilliant profession, indeed." Dippet nodded his head. "Although it is quite dangerous, it has become the number one profession that is in high demand. Given that Professor Dumbledore once told me that dark forces will always attempt to penetrate the walls at any time, not to mention there is a wizarding war that is now still ongoing, it was an absolutely correct decision to choose such a noble occupation, Evans."

Medeia did not know what to reply other than, "Thank you, sir."

"Just call me Professor Dippet, like the rest of my students." Dippet smiled broadly again.

   "Yes, Professor,"

"I can't believe it, Professor Dumbledore, I can't believe it! Our previous transfer students from Beauxbatons always ended up in Ravenclaw. I can't wait to teach her!" the sound of footsteps accompanied by a man's smiling voice, which Medeia could hear from behind her. She was sure it was Dumbledore and the Head of Slytherin that Dippet had just mentioned, named Slughorn.

"He sounds like the Sorting Hat." she thought. A second later, "Slughorn?" she frowned. It dawned on her that the man with that name was also in her visions.
