A month after reports surfaced that Rachel Weisz and her husband, Daniel Craig, were in discussions to play entangled lovers in a Broadway revival of Betrayal, directed by Mike Nichols, the British actress has confirmed that she will indeed be making her Broadway debut. During an interview with the U.K. morning showDaybreak, Weisz revealed her plans to host Aled Jones: “I am going to do a play on Broadway. It’s confirmed. I’ve never done Broadway [so I’m] very excited. [Broadway has] this mythical shine about it.”

Although she did not specify that she would be appearing in Betrayal, just two weeks ago, Weisz revealed that both she and Craig were interested in headlining the revival of the Harold Pinter play. “We’re absolutely hoping to,” she told E!. “We’re in negotiations. I want to very much.” If Weisz stars in the 1978 time-traveling drama, she would likely play Emma, a woman having an affair with her husband’s best friend. The role has previously been tackled by Blythe Danner and Juliette Binoche. Daniel Craig was reportedly in discussions to play Weisz’s onstage spouse. He last appeared on Broadway in John Crowley’s 2009 production of A Steady Rain, in which he co-starred with Hugh Jackman, and an impressively bushy mustache.

While this will mark Weisz’s first performance on the Great White Way, it will not be her first work onstage. The Oscar-winning actress earned a London Critics’ Circle Award for her performance in a 1994 revival of Noël Coward’s play Design for Living, and more recently, a Critics’ Circle Theatre Award for a 2009 West End production of A Streetcar Named Desire.
