Wilhelm Furtwängler dedicated his life to perpetuating the traditions of Germanic culture. During the six last years of his career, he went to Vienna to preserve that city's proud tradition and it's famed Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. He conducted operatic music with great imagination, overtures included, and this collection features some of the most famous.
