Install Mandriva Linux 2010.1 from DUAL CD

Mandriva Linux 2010.1 (Mandriva 2010 Spring) installation using DUAL CD. stlouismug.org

LXDE is default desktop on DUAL CD.

The beginning - license agreement.

There was Mandriva Linux 2010.0 installed on existing system. Default choice is to upgrade.

Installing instead of upgrading.

Mandriva is detecting existing keyboard.

Installation was performed on VirtualBox. This is reflected in harddisk drive name – VBOX Harddisk.

Detecting existing partitions and default installation suggestion.

The choice was to eliminate existing operating system (Mandriva Linux 2010.0) and perform fresh installation.

The final warning. Pressing 'Next' button starts formatting partition(s).

Click on 'Details' shows the installing package and a few packages just installed .

First configuration screen is 'User Management'

Setting up root password and creating user named 'User'. Clicking 'Next' starts bootloader installation.

Summary screen. Just pressing 'Next' is a shortcut to next step.

An option to update at installation time.

Clicking 'No' is another shortcut for faster installation.

'Congratulations' is the last window before rebooting.

Booting just installed Mandriva Linux 2010.1.
