Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato are promoting their tour right now, and they stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to talk about how they became our favorite platonic power couple.

While talking about their first roles in the industry (apparently, Joe Jonas wasn't the first co-star Demi had a crush on — that honor belongs to Barney the dinosaur), Nick explained how he and Demi met for the first time and managed to slip in some major shade towards his Disney Channel show,  J.O.N.A.S. in the process.

"We first met Demi when she was reading to be on the TV show that me and my brothers had called Jonas," Nick explained. "She didn't get it unfortunately, but then she booked the lead to be in Camp Rock."

But then Nick had to slip in this dig: "[Camp Rock] was a better project anyway. Which isn't saying a whole lot. But it was better than our TV show. That's for sure."

THE SHADE. IT'S REAL. Check out the moment:

Come on, Nick! Sure, JONAS didn't win you any Emmys, but it was still amazing if you accept it for what it was: a kids' show. Not to mention, it seamlessly transformed from a goofy sitcom to one of the best dramas ever in its second season (Nick and Macy forever!).

And don't think we didn't catch that Camp Rock shade, either. Being better than Jonas means Camp Rock was movie musical GOLD and that's saying A LOT (although we will agree it was better than Jonas, but only because it had Demi in it).
