Birdy ‘Skinny Love’

British teen singer delivers simple performance of 'Skinny Love'

British teen singer Birdy tackles Bon Iver’s hit “Skinny Love” with her piano-fueled cover. The video is simple, focusing on Birdy playing a grand piano in a studio, allowing the focus to be given to her soaring vocals.

Birdy chose to cover “Skinny Love” for her debut album after her aunt, who is a fan of the song, first played it for her. “When I was recording Birdy, I experimented with a lot of different tracks, and I chose the ones I felt I could really make my own,” she says. “My aunt had always loved the track ‘Skinny Love’ and played it for me. The track resonated with me so much, I definitely wanted to do my own version and include it on the album. It’s so beautiful the way the different sections are so different from each other, yet they all fit perfectly.”
