    Families and children are welcome to join the drawing workshops held each weekend at the Rijksmuseum.
  • RIJKS® restaurant
    RIJKS, the Rijksmuseum restaurant headed by chef Joris Bijdendijk, will be serving the Cuvée XII 2022 Vermeer from the Dutch vineyard Apostelhoeve. From 14 February, the RIJKS menu will also feature two Vermeer-style dishes: the Pearl amuse-bouche and the Milkmaid dessert.
  • TV Documentary: Dicht bij Vermeer (Close to Vermeer)
    Director Suzanne Raes follows the development of the Vermeer exhibition. In cinemas from 9 March 2023.
  • On-screen exhibition – Vermeer: The Greatest Exhibition Filmed guided tour of the Vermeer exhibition featuring interviews with the curators. Screening at cinemas in the UK and US from 18 April 2023 and worldwide from 23 April.

  • Philips
    Rijksmuseum Founder Philips is bringing people closer to Vermeer through its collaboration with artist Nick Smith on The Big Picture, a gigantic community artwork. It will be unveiled on 22 February 2023. For more information go to philips.nl/thebigpicture
  • ING
    Rijksmuseum main sponsor ING connects music and the fine arts with a younger audience through the Friends Meet Again project. A well-known singer-songwriter composed and performed a song inspired by Vermeer’s paintings – the video clip is available for viewing in the museum.

    The Closer to Vermeer online experience was made possible in part by the Rijksmuseum’s main sponsor KPN – it includes plenty of extra information as well as ultrahigh resolution images so you can zoom in on the tiniest details of the paintings.
  • New Amsterdam Surf Association
    New Amsterdam Surf Association, the streetwear brand for surfers, has brought Vermeer’s paintings to life on an embroidered cardigan depicting The Milkmaid, a blue jacket symbolising the milkmaid’s skirt, and a silk scarf with an image of The Little Street featuring a surfboard. The capsule collection available from April 2023.
  • Bonne Suits
    Bonne Reijn from Amsterdam fashion label Bonne Suits grew up in the city and has felt a connection with the Rijksmuseum since a young age. He drew inspiration for a new line of suits from the gorgeous colours in Vermeer’s paintings.

  • Vermeer’s Delft
    10 February to 4 June 2023
    Simultaneously with the Rijksmuseum exhibition, Museum Prinsenhof Delft is holding an exhibition on the influence of the city of Delft on the life and work of Vermeer.
  • Vrel – Forerunner of Vermeer
    16 February to 29 May 2023
    The Mauritshuis in The Hague is holding an exhibition on Vermeer’s forerunner, Jacobus Vrel (c. 1654–c. 1662).
  • My Girl with a Pearl
    6 February to 4 June 2023 The Mauritshuis in The Hague has lent all three of its Vermeers to the Rijksmuseum. That means Girl with a Pearl Earring will be hanging in Amsterdam for eight weeks. During this period, the Mauritshuis will be presenting the results of a worldwide open call for people to make art inspired by this iconic painting.
