Secret Life of the Wombat

In the cool highlands near Australia’s Snowy Mountains is Wombat Wood. There, dotted amongst the trees and dense foliage, are over a hundred wombat burrows. But when some of the burrows are flooded, the wombats need to find safety.

Wombats are solitary, slow-moving creatures, but breeding time brings out their energy, aggression and lots of play. Meet a southern hairy-nosed wombat named Birri, who’s trying to find a mate, along with a female named Winnie and her joey, Fred.
