Taiwanese electronics giant Acer on Thursday announced two new smartphones — the Liquid E3 and Liquid Z4 — which will be available in Europe starting in April.

The mid-range Liquid E3 (left) was"designed for photo enthusiasts looking to take great quality images to share with friends and family through social media," Acer said. It sports a 4.7-inch high-def screen, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with front LED flash, and a 13-megapixel shooter on the back with "ultra-fast focus."

"Users are no longer restricted to require good lighting in order to take vivid images," Acer said. "With high-speed image processing … low light photos are captured with high brightness allowing users to take images wherever and whenever they fancy."

The handset runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, but will receive an upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat later this year. Other specs include a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 4GB of internal user storage, 1GB of memory, Wi-Fi, and integrated GPS.

The Liquid E3 will go on sale in Europe this April for €199 ($275), but not in the U.S.

Meanwhile, the entry-level Liquid Z4 (right) is ideal for "browsing the Internet, social networking, and taking pictures." It features 4-inch screen, 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and auto-focus, and a 1.3GHz dual-core processor.

Weighing in at just 130 grams, the Liquid Z4 is just 9.7mm thick and "slips easily into a user's hand or pocket," Acer said. It runs Android 4.2.2, and has 4GB of internal user storage, Wi-Fi, and integrated GPS.

The Liquid Z4 comes in black and white color options and will be available in Europe starting in April for €99 ($135).

Both devices will be on display at next week's Mobile World Congress. For a better look at the Liquid E3, check out the video below.
