NEW YORK — As a player, Yankees legend Tino Martinez was always struck by Thurman Munson’s locker, which sat untouched across from Martinez’s at the old Yankee Stadium. It was almost like Munson was there with the team through their run of four World Series titles in five appearances over six years.

Years later, Martinez is in New York City to receive the Thurman Munson Award at the 44th annual benefit at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers, where he didn’t hesitate when asked if there will ever be a dynasty like the one he was a part of between 1996-2001.
