PARIS — Mrs. Rocknroll, better known as Oscar-winner Kate Winslet, rocked out at Lancome’s Paris Fashion Week party to celebrate its collaboration with a trio of young Parisian designers Wednesday night.
During the beauty bash, the actress spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the pressures of aging on women.
“We live in a world now where young women are familiar with people saying, ‘Oh, well, you know you look good now, darling, but wait until you’re thirty,’ or, ‘Well, you’ve got nice legs now, but wait until you’re thirty.’ What’s this wait until you’re 30?” said the Oscar-winner, who just gave birth to her third child and was clad in a figure-hugging Tom Ford dress. “It gets more exciting. Aging is so far really fun and so much changes. You do feel more confident.”

The Divergent actress discussed the decade-long relationship she has had with the beauty brand. “For me the nicest thing about the relationship I have with them is that their feeling about women and femininity and embracing the uniqueness of women is very similar to my own. It comes from within and it’s about being strong and confident and powerful. They don’t believe in telling people that growing old is bad, they celebrate that and they celebrate women of all ages,” she said, acknowledging the fellow faces of the brand including Oscar-winners Penelope Cruz and Julia Roberts.
“If you look at myself and Penelope, we’re both in our ’30s and we both have children, and you look at Julia, who’s well into her ’40s and such an extraordinary, powerful woman. It’s that sense of power and strength that I really appreciate that they acknowledge.”
The brand, which signed Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o in April, also announced it added the 39-year-old French model Caroline de Maigret to its roster earlier this week.
Later that evening, Winslet and husband Ned Rocknroll danced along to New York pop band Avan Lavan and singer Willy Moon at the city’s cavernous Palais Brongniart, where Lancome celebrated its new collaboration with fashion designers Alexandre Vauthier, Jacquemus and Yiqing Yin.
