recuerdo/E. Ansermet/33". B/w, 4x6. Swiss conductor Ernest Ansermet
(1883-1969) played string, brass and woodwind instruments before taking up
the baton. In 1915, he conducted the orchestra of the Ballet Russes for the
first time, touring America with it in the following year. A friend of Igor
Stravinsky, he introduced many works of him and of other Russian composers. For
many years, Ansermet divided his time between Geneva and Argentina, conducting
orchestras in both places. Top right corner creased. Toned. Mounting residue on
verso and face. Pencil note (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
