Jennifer Love Hewitt is remembering a special person in her life, and her emotional tribute to her loved one left fans moved.
On June 12, the 9-1-1 star posted a photo on Instagram to commemorate the anniversary of her mother Patricia's 2012 death "from complications of cancer." As she shared an image of the two posing for a selfie, Jennifer reflected on how she carries on her mother's legacy in the way she raises her family. What's more, she acknowledged how much she appreciated having Patricia guide her through life and how important her presence was to her upbringing.
"11 years ago my life changed in a moment," the Ghost Whisperer actress captioned it. "We didn’t get to say goodbye, but I think it’s because we wouldn’t have known how. I see you in my kids [Autumn, Atticus and Aidan] everyday. I feel you in things I say and smile because I’m more like you than I thought."
She continued: "I honor you by trying to create magic for my family just like you did for us. I love you deeply. I’m so grateful you were our mom. This day will always hurt because you were that special. Always and forever mom ❤️."
When fans saw the Criminal Minds alum get sentimental about her mother's death on Instagram, their hearts immediately broke for her. As a result, many went to the Instagram comments to rally around Jennifer with support.
"Sending you so much love ❤️," one person wrote. "We are sure she must have been an extraordinary human, because look at her daughter. ❤️ Sending you love," another added. "What a beautiful tribute to your mother. I’m certain she was so proud of you! ❤️," a different follower said.
Apart from honoring her mother online, she also has used the platform to showcase the way she celebrates her family with husband Brian Hallisay. Back in April, the I Know What You Did Last Summer star got three butterfly tattoos as a permanent representation of her three children.
