It's been 10 years since Heroes landed on our screens and became our favourite TV show. For a season. Remember how amazing that first season was?

We'll just pretend it got axed as soon as Peter, Hiro and the rest saved the cheerleader, and thus saved the world. And we'll definitely pretend that the reboot no-one wanted was ever Reborn.

But for now we'll focus on the good old days, when the whole superhero shtick seemed new and we couldn't get enough of bad guy Sylar and injury-shy Claire. So, how have the cast's careers fared since the show ended the first time around in 2010?

Ah, loveable Ando. Always there for his buddy Hiro but with none of the awesome powers – the Samwise Gamgee of the Heroes world. The South Korean-born American actor has appeared in a handful of projects since then, including episodes of the TV musical version of School of Rock, NCIS: LA and Justified. His greatest moment has to be throwing the ball instead of a corner in the 2010 edition of Soccer Aid.

16. Ali Larter (Niki/Tracy)

The former scream queen was already a familiar face before taking on the dual roles of Niki and Tracy in Heroes. She has been relatively quiet in recent years raising her family, but she has returned to the Resident Evil franchise a couple of times as Claire Redfield, appeared in TNT's Sean Bean drama Legends, and currently stars in the Fox baseball series Pitch. She also released her first cookbook in 2013, because why not?

15. Noah Gray-Cabey (Micah)

The former child actor is of course ripped today, because most actors are. Noah is now 20, and he has made a bit of a comeback in the last couple of years. He reprised his role of young Micah in the Reborn series and he currently stars in the CBS medical drama Code Black.

14. Dania Ramirez (Maya)

Having previously appeared in The Sopranos, X-Men and Buffy, Dania joined Heroes in the much-maligned second season, and she probably had one of the most forgettable roles in poison killer Maya. Since then, Dania appeared in several episodes of Entourage before taking on a lead role in Devious Maids from 2013 to 2016.

13. Jimmy Jean-Louis (The Haitian)

The model and actor is still probably best known for playing the mysterious Haitian, a role he reprised for the Reborn series. He has appeared in a variety of projects since then, including Jennifer Lawrence's Joy and several movies in France, Nigeria, Ghana and elsewhere.

He made headlines in 2010 after the devastating Haiti earthquake, discovering that several of his relatives had been killed. He has since launched Hollywood Unites for Haiti, a non-profit charitable aid organisation that provides sports and cultural education to underprivileged youths in the country.

12. Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder)

Sendhil has continued to appear in a number of both UK and US projects since Heroes ended, and he also returned as geneticist Mohinder for the Reborn revival. He has had recurring roles in the likes of Covert Affairs, CSI: Miami, The Office, Beauty and the Beast and Stan Lee's Lucky Man on Sky1.

11. Adrian Pasdar (Nathan)

After several years on TV, Adrian's biggest role arrived as the flying politician Nathan Petrelli in Heroes. Since then, he's largely focused on providing the voice of Iron Man in the Marvel animated universe, and he also starred as Glenn Talbot in the live-action series Agents of SHIELD. More recently, he has had a recurring role in Josh Holloway's sci-fi series Colony.

10. Masi Oka (Hiro)

Masi worked as a digital effects artist (including at George Lucas's Industrial Light & Magic – you can see him in the credits for all three Star Wars prequels) before making a name for himself as an actor as the time-jumping Hiro. Yata! Since Heroes ended, he has had a main role in the Hawaii Five-0 remake since 2010 (appearing in just under 100 episodes), and he returned for three episodes in Reborn.

9. Greg Grunberg (Matt)

Greg's face popped up in all sorts of TV shows and films before landing his biggest ever role as the cop who could hear people's thoughts, Matt. He has continued to be busy since the show ended, most notably with a recurring role in Masters of Sex in 2013. He continues to be JJ Abrams's lucky charm, featuring in some capacity in pretty much all the filmmaker's projects, including as Snap Wexley in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

8. Jack Coleman (Mr Bennett)

Jack was already a Dynasty favourite before playing the mysterious villain-turned-nice-guy Noah Bennett in Heroes, and he came back as the lead character in Reborn. He has since had recurring roles in a bunch of TV shows including The Vampire Diaries, The Office, Castle and Scandal. And just like his buddy Adrian Pasdar, he has gone down the Marvel route and provided the voice of Doctor Strange in a number of cartoons.

7. Jayma Mays (Charlie)

Jayma might have only appeared in five episodes as Hiro's waitress love-interest Charlie, but it was a role which helped launch her career. It soon led her to playing OCD teacher Emma in all six seasons of Glee. She has also had recurring roles in How I Met Your Mother, Ugly Betty, The League and had a main role in the short-lived comedy The Millers. She currently voices Puss in Boots's love interest Dulcinea in the Shrek character's TV spinoff.

6. David Anders (Adam)

No, he's not Neil Patrick Harris's brother. Also, he's not British, although he seems to always play Britons. David has had one recurring TV role after another since being killed off as Adam Monroe. These have included 24, The Vampire Diaries, Once Upon a Time and Necessary Roughness, and he currently has a main role in the teen horror iZombie.

5. Hayden Panettiere (Claire)

Hayden was already a prolific child actor and singer by the time she joined as the cheerleader who was practically indestructible. Since Heroes ended, she is best known for playing country superstar Juliette Barnes in Nashville since 2012. She also played Amanda Knox in a TV drama about the teenager falsely accused of murder. She also featured in Scream 4 and continues to voice Kairi among others in the Kingdom Hearts video game series.

4. Santiago Cabrera (Isaac)

Chilean actor Santiago was criminally underused in the first season of Heroes, but he soon became an even bigger star (in the UK at least), after being cast as the dashing Sir Lancelot in Merlin. He has also played Sal Price in Dexter, Diego in The Mindy Project, and most famously Aramis in the BBC's The Musketeers. He will next feature in the mammoth blockbuster Transformers: The Last Knight.

3. Milo Ventimiglia (Peter)

Milo was already known to fans of Gilmore Girls and Rocky Balboa before landing the de-facto lead role of ability-sponge Peter Petrelli. After a few barren years, Milo has had a comeback recently, after landing a lead role in the critically acclaimed drama This Is Us. He will also return as former bad boy Jess in the Gilmore Girls revival, and he also appeared in Grace of Monaco, though he probably wants to forget that one.

2. Kristen Bell (Elle)

Kristen was already a TV queen before Heroes thanks to playing the titular role in Veronica Mars, a character she reprised for its crowdfunded movie in 2014. She broke into movies via 2008's Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and has since appeared in the likes of Couples Retreat, The Boss and When in Rome. Biggest of all was voicing Princess Anna in Disney's behemoth Frozen (and its upcoming sequel). She also had the female lead in House of Lies and currently stars in the NBC comedy The Good Place.

1. Zachary Quinto (Sylar)

Although he was a right shit, everyone loved baddie Sylar to the point where he became a sort-of goodie. This breakout role helped Zachary win the role of a young Spock in the Star Trek movie franchise. He was nominated for an Emmy for his role in American Horror Story: Asylum. He has also had smaller roles in The Slap, Hannibal, Hitman: Agent 47, Snowden and Girls.
