Jeanne Tripplehorn has joined the cast of Criminal Minds.
The Big Love actress will make her debut as a series regular in the CBS crime drama when it returns for an eighth season this coming fall, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Criminal Minds' executive producer Erica Messer expressed her excitement in the new casting, stating: "We're thrilled to have Jeanne Tripplehorn join our team as a profiler.
"Her character will be introduced in the premiere. It's an exciting way to start season 8."
Tripplehorn is considered a replacement for Paget Brewster, who recently ended her six season-run as Special Agent Emily Prentiss in Criminal Minds.
Brewster's Criminal Minds co-star Joe Mantegna however claimed that the actress can return to the show as a guest star, since her character "is positioned in a way that she can come back periodically".
