Forget the fries: Would you like a side of MLB Hall of Famer with that?

Cal Ripken Jr., who played 21 seasons with the Baltimore Orioles before retiring in 2001, will visit Roy Rogers in Brick on April 30. His appearance coincides with the chain's 50th anniversary and its partnership with the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, which provides underserved youth with mentors, sports opportunities and educational experiences.

The former shortstop and third baseman will visit the restaurant, known for its burgers and roast beef sandwiches, from 5 to 6 p.m. He will take orders at the counter, work the drive-through and cook in the kitchen, according to a news release.

Ripken Jr. is the 2018 spokesman for Maryland-based Roy Rogers Restaurants; he will appear in commercials and on social media feeds throughout the year.

Roy Rogers on Brick Boulevard will welcome Cal Ripken Jr. later this month.

“Roy Rogers is a brand I have known and enjoyed since I was a kid, and I am thrilled to partner with them in their 50th year,” Cal Ripken Jr. said in a news release. “They are helping our foundation and looking to grow, and I am excited to be a part of it.”
