22-Inch VF-1 Valkyrie Becomes Macross' Biggest Plastic Model Ever

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Max Factory is producing a new plastic model of the VF-1 Valkyrie from The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?. The pre-order period for the "PLAMAX MF-25: minimum factory VF-1 Super/Strike Gerwalk Valkyrie" model opened on Tuesday.

The 1/20-scale model stands about 570 millimeters (about 22 inches) tall and is about 620 millimeters (about 24 inches) wide. It is the biggest plastic model in the Macross franchise's history.

The model has a static pose in Gerwalk mode, and fans can display it on an included stand with the strike pack or super pack. The model in the cockpit wears Roy Focker's suit, and large stickers can recreate Roy and Hikaru Ichijou's fighter. The pre-fabricated parts come in five colors that people can assemble and finish easily by attaching stickers. Fans can choose between A, J, and S types for the Valkyrie's head.

The model costs 36,852 yen (about US$337), and Goodsmile Online Shop is accepting pre-orders until June 21. Regular sales of the model will begin in August.
