Pros:
As the book says, it is a good overview of Van Gogh's "most well-known, stunning and important works". All the paintings are full-paged, and the first 30 pages provides a nice bio for Van Gogh's. Of his over 800 paintings, 93 or so of the best ones are pictured here. There are one or two sentence blurbs for each of the paintings that provide a little insight into each one.

This is probably a good collection to buy if it is for someone with 0 artistic background who is mildly interested in Van Gogh.

Cons:
Van Gogh is a master of color, but the colors in this book are wrong. They are over-saturated or washed-out when compared to his actual works (I took the book to a Van Gogh exhibition and matched the colors in the book to the paintings) or when compared to other collections.

Other collections I've seen take greater care in matching the color of the prints in their collections to their originals, where this one doesn't seem to care.

One painting in the collection, "Vase with Gladioli and China Asters", is a reversed image to the original which entirely throws off the composition and makes it feel like a different painting. Like, what? That is just sloppy editing.

I don't know where they acquired their photographs of the paintings, but over-saturated and washed-out isn't what I want to spend $18 on. Art students beware.
