Not realizing what I had in my possession, I had the first book of Runoff on my shelf for years before I finally read it. When I did read it, I cursed myself for not reading it earlier. I didn't make that mistake with Bering Strait. When I saw it was published, I bought it and gobbled it up.

I honestly have no idea how Tom's incredible work is flying under the radar. His books are among my all time favorite graphic novels. So if you like your anthropology blood-soaked with a rich vein of pathos, then grab this book as soon as you can.

This is my favorite graphic novel from one of my favorite authors. He creates a vivid world that is familiar to me and foreign to many others. The concept of drawing and story development simultaneously is almost impossible to comprehend. Original and unique in very way takes me on an amazing journey through this world.
