List of MP5-K variants

MP5-KA1
First production model of the MP5-K. The K model has a shorter receiver than the regular MP5 and is fitted with cap with sling mount. The A1 model features a SEF trigger group and low profile sights instead of diopter sights. For over a decade this was the only MP5-K model marketed.
MP5-KA4
This is the first major update to the MP5-K, introducing many features present on more modern MP5's. These were produced with regular diopter sights and ambidextrous trigger group with 3 round burst option. Other new and older trigger groups are available as well.
MP5-KA5
Modern production model that features all the modernized MP5 features as implemented on the MP5-KA4. However, the A5 model retains the low profile sights of the A1 model. The A5 model is far less common than the A4.
MP5-K Navy
Model originally introduced for use by the US Navy. This is essentially a MP5-KA4 with longer 140mm barrel with three lug adapter for mounting a suppressor.
MP5-K PDW
Variant of the MP5-KA4 with side-folding stock and 140mm barrel that allows for a suppressor to be fitted. Introduced in 1991. The side-folding stock makes the MP5-K much bulkier, but also more effective at range. Late model MP5-K PDWs are fitted with a modified UMP stock, which is more stable.
