The Paradise Riflebird is endemic to rainforest in the mountains of southeast Queensland and northeast New South Wales. It is the most southerly encountered Bird of Paradise in the world.
Here is a male looking for an early morning snack 20m plus up in a tree aside a forest road where I had the luxury of a reasonably clear view. The distinctive raspy call of another bird can be heard early on in the film.
