VALLEY CITY – Valley City State head baseball coach Alec DeMaria announced today that former Viking Brady Anderson is joining the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach.

A former catcher, Anderson played for the Vikings from 2013-17, setting VCSU school records for career hits (225), career doubles (53), career RBIs (156) and single-season doubles (19).

He will serve as VCSU's catching coach this season while also assisting with the hitters.

Throughout his time at VCSU, Anderson was recognized as a three-time all-conference performer for the Vikings. In 2014, he was honored as the NSAA Player of the Year, and was named an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American. Additionally, Anderson competed in the M.I.N.K. Collegiate Baseball League for the St. Joseph Mustangs during three summers, winning two M.I.N.K. Championships and earning the title of two-time team MVP.

Brady currently resides in Valley City with his wife, Kara, and their daughter, Ila, and is excited to welcome a son to the family later this spring. He is employed as a Sales Agronomist for Central Plains Ag.

Valley City State opens the 2024 spring baseball season Feb. 24-25 with four games in Kansas City, Kan.
