Du’aa for students or those facing hardships

These du’aas may come from the Quran, Sunnah (Hadeeth), sahaabah, righteous predecessors, Imams, Sheikhs, Ustadhs, Ustadhas or even a few righteous  brothers and sisters. One may also use some of these du’aas during a hardship, calamity or difficulty of any sort. They may not necessarily be meant for students during their exams or studying only. Non-students may also find some of these du’aas useful, in shaa Allah.

Please note that the best kind of du’aas are those found in the Quran and saheeh Sunnah (Hadeeth). It is best if one can use these as much as one can, in shaa Allah.

Rasulallah ﷺ taught his daughter, Fatima RA a powerful du’a, a du’a that he ﷺ said to not let a morning or evening pass without saying:

يَا حَيُّ يَا قَـيُّومُ
بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ
أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ
وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ

Yaa Hayyu yaa Qayyoomu
(O Ever Living, O Ever Sustaining)
bi rahmatika astagheeth
(in Your mercy I seek relief)
aslih lee sha’nee kullahu
(rectify for me all of my affairs)
wa laa takilnee ilaa nafsee tarfata ‛ayn
(and do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye).

Billions of rewards

Benefits of the following du’aa:

  1. You’ll get billions of rewards, in shaa Allah!*
  2. Angels will say Ameen to your du’aa too and the angels are also asking Allah to grant you the same, as you are making du’aa in the absence of others!**
  3. Asking Allah for forgiveness will also open our “doors”, in shaa Allah!

.

**Evidence:

{Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) said:

“The supplication of a Muslim for his (Muslim) brother in his absence will certainly be answered. Everytime he makes a supplication for good for his brother, the angel appointed for this particular task says: ‘Ameen! May it be for you, too’.”

Some Du’aas for Forgiveness

From Qur’aan and Sunnah

.

Why? Allah likes it very VERY much when we ask HIM for forgiveness. In shaa Allah, HE may forgive us for our sins PLUS – – HE may give us more knowledge, HE may increase our gifts for us, HE may open our doors of Rizq and ‘Ilm, HE may give us more children, money, food or bigger houses, etc… Basically HE may answer more of our du’aas, the way that we like them, in shaa Allah!

Therefore, asking for HIS forgiveness, is always a brilliant idea!

O Allah, I am Your slave and the son of Your male slave and the son of your female slave . My forehead is in Your Hand (i.e. you have control over me) . Your Judgment upon me is assured and Your Decree concerning me is just . I ask You by every Name that You have named Yourself with , revealed in Your Book , taught any one of Your creation or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You , to make the Qur’an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness and the reliever of my distress.

Weak Hadeeth:

This du’aa is narrated in a weak (Da’if) Hadeeth. Some teachers say it’s okay to use it. So long as you know it is a da’if Hadeeth and if you share it with others, let them know, it’s a weak Hadeeth. Other teachers say no. Avoid it. Use only authentic (sahīh) or good (Hasan) Hadeeth.
