Echinopsis randallii is a wonderful plant from Bolivia, reminiscent of North American plants in the genus Ferocactus. It has gone under many names, including Helianthocereus randallii, Trichocereus randallii, and Echinopsis formosa ssp. randallii. It comes into flower in late summer, with intermittent bursts of flowering into the fall, but this is the first time it has persisted all the way into late November here at the Ruth Bancroft Garden.
