Development of severe left hip pain following repair of an inter-trochanteric neck of femur fracture with a gamma nail

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female

The lag screw has cut out from its original central position in the femoral neck (arrow),  piercing the superior femoral head cortex entering the hip joint space.
