I’ve seen this debated so many times, and debated it myself since I was a little #geek #nerd #fangirl. Even debated it with my own grandfather Haha. I’ve always basically identified as both but after doing the research.. Yes.. I’ve actually done that I’m that curious.. I’m leaning more towards #geek. Even found a diagram.
From what I’m seeing all over the interwebs (as you know everything on here is true. Abe Lincoln says so) #geeks are the type to wear ironic t shirts, spout off strange awkward topics but not totally socially inept, keep to a group of other outcasts but can get along with most, not total introverts just not totally out there in the open, and have their own unique thought process. Well shit. I’m glad I fit this bill. There other traits as shown in the diagram here. #Nerds are more the stereotype the so called “normals” see us as. The introvert, the person who can’t really socialize unless through text, the computer tech geniuses,the scholars who never branched out due to the issue of not being able to be in front of a crowd, totally awkward, possible Virgin types.
Still not sure I believe all this but if this is the case which would you say you identify with most? After reading these blogs, articles and discussions I laughed out loud to myself because I looked down at my t shirt. It had a picture of Ron Burgundy on it saying “Actually, I’m kind of a big deal” that tickled me. Ironic t shirt lol. I also had just got done watching a “A Beautiful Mind” and thought about the #nerd description. Either way I simply deem us awesome. Notice #geek is the new cool. Wow! A lot of us were super ahead of our time. #geek is the new cheerleader. The new jock. We’re now sitting at the cool kid’s table in life. Basque in it fellow #geeks and #nerds. It’s our time.
