Either understaffed or mismanaged store. 8 customers waiting in queue for 15 mins while the cashier is still on the first customer. While 3 other associates are just doing other chores (not attending or interacting with customers) - instead of helping customers checkout

not enough staff to provide proper customer service and they do not carry sizes over 14 in-store, although J Crew carries up to size 24 online--apparently a company wide decision.

Do people in/around U Village not use Yelp?! I can't believe I'm the first to review.
First and foremost, thanks to Holly at this J Crew location for her help. Ladies, we all know how painful shopping for jeans can be. Lots of jeans look great on the rack and then don't even zip up!
I'm NOT a big fan of help in stores. I don't like when I hear, "How did that work for you? Do you need another size?"
Yes. Maybe I do. But that's NONE of your business. I want you to think I'm always trying on XS or something with a 24 inch waist.
But Holly (or maybe Polly?) was awesome. I swallowed my pride and gave her my real size. She ran around the store and found two pairs of jeans that were just my style. Without being pushy she told me how they fit on her frame and showed me to a dressing room. Ten minutes later I spent $250 on jeans! Holy crap.
I've never bought jeans from J Crew. I didn't really think of them as a store where they had great jeans. In fact, I had been disappointed by J Crew lately but now I'm a bigger fan than ever. I even called my twin sister to tell her to go buy their jeans. The material is nice and thick, the color/fade is very trendy and they have long and short lengths available. Perfect! My search for jeans is over. At least for a little while.Helpful 16Thanks 0Love this 16Oh no 0 - 11432066066Mar 20, 2016
The store is usually pretty well-organized and clean, but the selection here goes by very quickly, so it's hard to find items that you may have seen at other locations or online. Also, never has any of the sales staff greeted me or asked if I needed help like at other locations. It's a stop whenever I'm at U-Village because I love J.Crew, but I never willingly would go here just for this store.

Although the manager had misplaced items and they were marked 50% off, she was unwilling to honor the price. She claimed they had been "moved" although they were all in the 50% off location and nowhere else in the store. She made no attempt to move them out of the 50% off location, but also had no intention of honoring their pricing. It took several calls for her to even come to the floor to look at the error. Poor customer service.

Markus and Holly!!
I didn't remember the names of the people that helped us here a couple months ago, but looking at the reviews I think I have it right? Holly had red hair and was moving away... Anyway.
My boyfriend finally conceded that he needed some new clothes, and being a retail professional I jumped on the opportunity. Markus was so helpful, mixing the right amount of fit advice with good ol' HB (the Hold Back), so my boyfriend didn't feel ambushed by the two of us. He was skeptical of the maroon pants-- but now he wears them practically every day!
As someone who gave 3 years of her life to this company, UVillage J.Crew exemplifies the brand and the customer service standard.
We should have just went ahead and ordered his Ludlow suit at this location (see my review of Pacific Place J.Crew), but alas, we were shopped out and needed a smoothie.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alli D.Seattle, WA8648722Aug 20, 2008First to Review
Sissy: *approaches display table* Hey! These are good teacher pants!
Alli: Ooo, I'm getting every color. *frantically rummages for her size*
Sales Girl: *folding sweaters nearby* Are you guys teachers?
Sissy: Yeah, we both are.
Sales Girl: Did you know we give teachers a 15% discount? All we need is your school email address!
Alli: *rummages more frantically* I'm getting every color.
I mean, really?! How nice was that? She could have just kept her mouth shut and let us pay full price. Then she chatted me up (while ringing up my new wardrobe) about where I teach and all that. Talk about customer service. Yay for school shopping!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Martina N.Seattle, WA02Dec 21, 2015
I was in the store yesterday. They have greater contempt for their customers than the Soup Nazi.
Five people were standing around and one was handling the till. When he finished with the customer he had, he turned his back on the line, and nobody was doing anything to transact business.
I pity the woman who was helping customers in the fitting rooms. No soup for her!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lillian S.Seattle, WA36192May 2, 2013
NOTE: This review is entirely based on the lack of service I received - nothing to do with the quality of clothing or selection.
I needed to source some apparel for a work project and I thought to stop into J.Crew. I managed to scour the ENTIRE store without any kind of acknowledgement from the 5 employees I saw on the floor. Two of them even made quick eye contact with me a couple times, standing within.. 5 feet of me and nothing. No hello, no offer to help, NOTHING. Finally, I flagged a guy down to get the manager, and then she tried to help.
But really, at that point, it's gone too far. I already managed to see everything in the store, so there was nothing she could have helped me with.
Poor, poor, poor service. Appalling really, for the amount of time I was there, amount of staff on the floor, and small number of customers browsing.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Silvia H.Seattle, WA191729Jan 30, 2017
Great basics to round out a well curated closet. The snooty 'tude I stumble upon at times has got to go, not even Barney's plays that card these days.
