I had a very good experience with Mario and the other man he worked with. I had my entire interior of my brick ranch in Columbus painted, including the ceilings. They were very polite and diligent. I adjusted my requests a bit and they complied very nicely. He stuck with his initial estimate of cost. Two men took two and a half days which is what was expected.
I had no scheduling anomolies or problems with them.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - A A.Westerville, OH0320Nov 5, 2019First to Review
We've hired Mario a number of times over the years and his work used to be good, however we recently hired him to paint our entire home for a major renovation and our experience was awful. He tried to reschedule the initial start date knowing we NEEDED him to be there on that date in order for us to have a room in our house that we could still live in with our 4yr old for the remainder of the renovation. He tried canceling because "it was nice weather and he wanted to paint exterior jobs instead of mine while the weather was good." When I got upset he got an attitude and basically acted like I was the one in the wrong. When he did show up to do the work the quality was total crap, other than our vaulted ceiling which was preprimed shiplap, it came out pretty well but since he used such cheap, low quality paint who knows how long it'll hold up. Our walls and staircase look awful. The staircase was basically primed, left with rough edges everywhere and already had paint/primer wearing off in 3 weeks time. He tried to tell us it was done and fully painted. The walls and ceilings were just sloppy work, not enough coats were used and there are MANY VERY obvious flaws and mistakes. Giant paint drips and clumps and really visable brush and roller marks, spots of drywall showing through. After telling us initially that he would sand and fill in any minor holes or scratches, he then flat out refused once on the job. When I pointed out areas he painted that were in need of fixing he'd get an attitude and blame it on us saying we damaged it somehow or he'd say it was a drywall issue, neither were true. We have an AMAZING drywaller and everyone who's seen his work in our house is impressed. He simply refused to correct any of the mistakes they'd made and walked off the job. He made sure he got paid a ridiculous amount of money for the incomplete work done first though. I've had three other paint professionals in to estimate the job (all within the same price bracket or less) and all have said it's terrible work. I made sure to not even point out what I thought was wrong and simply ask them what they thought of the areas he'd painted. All were shocked a professional painter did that job and refused to correct it. It's really sad that his work ethic has declined to this standard of simply not caring. We were repeat customers who always paid in full and on time. Now we're glad to take our business to a painting company who actually takes pride in their work and cares that their customers are happy.
