KTO Gamma Intramedullary Nail System
The gamma nail or trochanteric nail is an osteosynthetic implant designed to treat proximal femoral fractures in the trochanter area with a closed intramedullary fixation method.
A trapezoidal shape provides a press-fit in the metaphyseal region to position more material on the lateral side of the nail.

The KTO Sliding Compression Gamma IM Nail System consists of the following components:

Indications
- fractures of the femur including simple shaft fractures, comminuted shaft fractures, spiral shaft fractures, long oblique shaft fractures and segmental shaft fractures
- subtrochanteric fractures
- intertrochanteric fractures
- ipsilateral femoral shaft/neck fractures
- intracapsular fractures
- non-unions and malunions
- polytrauma and multiple fractures
- prophylactic nailing of impending pathologic fractures
- reconstruction, following tumor resection and grafting
- bone lengthening and shortening

Trapezoidal nail profile provides enhanced stability in the proximal femur for early weight bearing.
5° lateral offset for minimally invasive trochanteric approach. 127° neck shaft angle suits Asian’s anatomy.
Compression actively maintained to help stability and union.
Preservation of femoral offset to aid a return to function.
Small proximal diameter preserves the gluteus medius tendon and the lateral wall of the greater trochanter.
