鹓鶵和鹓雛是同一个动物，鸾凤是指鸾鸟和凤凰，单独拆开是两种神鸟，但是放在一起就代指神鸟，鹓雛和鸾凤传说中是同种类的。但还有一种说法来源于《淮南子》，里面记载飞龙生凤凰，凤凰生鸾鸟。说明他们虽然同属神鸟种，但是凤凰仍然拥有特殊的地位，结合中国历史来看也的确如此。打个比方，他们都是虎，鹓雛是东北虎，鸾鸟是华南虎，而凤凰的地位哪怕比喻成虎类似乎也是很特殊的存在，所以可能是白化虎吧。
