The frame was made with S&S couplers by Surly. The S&S couplers allow the bike to be split into two pieces and packed into standard size airline luggage.
S&S couplers add roughly $500 to the cost of a new/retrofitted frame of a steel bike.

58cm frame. For sizing, I'm about 6' and 32" inseam. Shimano XTR, 105, Deore XT components. 27 speed, 3x9. Soft travel case, coupler spanner wrench, cable disconnects, custom frame tube covers, front and back racks, and fenders as shown in the photos are included.
I had this bike custom built in 2014. The same year I rode it less than 1000 miles on a short tour. It has since been stored and unused. It's very lightly used and in excellent condition.
