Do you know what day today is? No? Well, today marks just 10 days until we get our first dose of Ted Lasso Season 2, of course. Time to rally the Diamond Dogs and bake some biscuits for the return of the Apple TV+ comedy. Sure, we’ve missed big players like Ted (Jason Sudeikis), Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt), and Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) — but in the spirit of Ted Lasso, shouldn’t we be welcoming back the sideline stars, too? One of the actresses starring in a supporting role is actually rumored to be dating the show’s lead, so we’ll be seeing her around quite a bit more than last season. Ted Lasso fans, it’s time for you to meet Keeley Hazell.
Ted Lasso, which just nabbed a bevy of Emmy nominations today, returns for Season 2 next Friday, July 23. Episodes will be released weekly, so we’ll be getting our doses of Ted Lasso all the way into the Fall. Will AFC Richmond make their way back into the Premiere League under the direction of Ted, Coach Beard, and Nate the Great? That’s what Season 2 hopes to answer. The show was at the very top of Decider’s Best TV Shows of 2020; hopefully, Season 2 can live up to its predecessor.
One thing that may give Ted Lasso Season 2 an edge is the introduction of Hazell’s new connection to the show — which is her budding relationship with Sudeikis. Here’s everything you need to know about Jason Sudeikis’s rumored girlfriend’s role in the series:
Who is Keeley Hazell, and who is she playing in Ted Lasso Season 2?
Keeley Hazell is a British actress who got her big break in the romance film Like Crazy alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Felicity Jones, and Anton Yelchin. She first acted alongside Sudeikis in the 2014 comedy Horrible Bosses 2, reuniting with him when she joined the Ted Lasso cast last year.
In the series, Hazell plays Bex, a character with some history in the show. She’s dating Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head), Rebecca’s nasty ex-husband who proposes to her. Spoiler — they’re expecting a child together, and Rebecca is not happy about it. Guess we’ll see where that leads in Season 2.
What about Keeley Jones?
Yes, there are now two Keeleys in the Lasso Universe. Think you can handle them? Keeley Jones is a fictional character played by Juno Temple, whereas Keeley Hazell is playing a fictional character (Bex) in the series. Maybe write this down so you don’t get mixed up.

The couple hasn’t officially confirmed anything, but they were seen canoodling around NYC just last month. A source told People Magazine that “they’ve been dating for a little while now,” also adding that, “They’re just having fun. It’s nothing serious at this point.” We wish them our best!

Nope, not yet, at least. Keeley’s character was dating Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster), now she’s dating Rupert, but that’s not to say things can’t shift around in the Lasso Universe. Remember Jamie’s girlfriend last season, Keeley Jones? She’s dating Roy (Brett Goldstein) on the show now, so anything goes.
