Wrestling Inks Five Recruits for 2023 on National Signing Day

11/9/2022 2:02:00 PM

WASHINGTON - Second-year head coach Jason Borrelli has announced the addition of five recruits for the 2023-24 season, with all five officially committing to American University wrestling on National Signing Day. Coen Bainey (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle), Caleb Beaty (Clayton, N.C./Corinth Holders), Kaden Milheim (Muncy, Pa./Warrior Run), Gage Owen (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) and Emmanuel Ulrich (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) will all join the Eagles next year.

Our 2023 recruiting class is a special group and in many ways, our pioneer class. This was the staff’s first full recruiting cycle since arriving at AU, and Coen, Gage, Kaden, Caleb and Emmanuel will play critical roles as we work to restore AU wrestling to national prominence. Not very often can a program say they landed their top targets in one class, but that’s just what happened this year. These five hard-working, talented, and high character student-athletes were our go-to prospects from day one. I am thrilled that they trust in our staff and chose AU!
