Hugh Jackman's friendship with Aussie singer sends fans wild

Fans loved the idea of the pair hanging out.

Hugh Jackman has been snapped beaming from ear-to-ear alongside Aussie singer Betty Who, after he visited her Broadway show following his split with wife of 27 years Deborra-Lee Furness.

The 54-year-old actor caught up with the 31-year-old singer backstage at her musical Hadestown last week.

Betty, who is married to photographer Zac Cassar, shared a photo of the pair and excitedly wrote, "MY COUNTRYMAN!!!! 🇦🇺thank you for coming to see us in @hadestown and being so kind!"

Fans were very excited to see the two performers together, with one user commenting, "I’M CRYING 😭 we need a movie musical with you two as the leads IMMEDIATELY 😍."

"I've died," the Bold Type's Katie Stevens added.

"Two of my most favourite people in the entertainment world! I’m one photo! Yes!" another wrote.

It comes after an insider told Woman's Day that Hugh and Betty, who they describe as a "Deb-lookalike", are "really good friends who hope to work in a theatre show or musical one day", adding they have "fun chemistry".

It comes as Hugh has been spotted mingling with famous friends, including Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Taylor Swift.

Hugh's 'bombshell' memoir

The Wolverine actor is reportedly also in the early stages of writing a 'bombshell' memoir, according to Us Weekly.

"Hugh is choosing to [write this book] now because he's finally [being] honest with himself [and] the divorce," an insider spills.

"The content will be Hugh speaking about his life. He'll be opening up about his life like never before."

Hugh and Deborra-Lee revealed their split last month in a statement shared with People magazine, saying: "We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth."

They continued, "Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.

"We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."
