Mbói Tu’ĩ

Region of origin: Paraguay

In Guarani mythology, Kerana, granddaughter of the first people, was stolen away by the personification of evil, Tau, and the two had seven sons who would become the Seven Legendary Monsters, acting as minor deities ruling over different parts of the land. The second son, Mbói Tu’ĩ was a giant serpent charged with protecting the swamplands and the amphibious and aquatic animals that lived there.
